This is achieved in two ways: Firstly, the initial recording is done in a quiet environment with correctly set recording levels, and secondly, the files are 'cleaned' by running each recording through several digital sound filters. As a potential contributor you only have to worry about the first part! The manager of the website will take care of the cleaning process.

As a contributor to this website you will be helping to teach the world the Russian language. Our aim is to become the best resource for teaching practical Russian on the internet, and with your help we can achieve this goal.

Please note that while we hope to keep this website free for everybody, it depends on how many people eventually use this website. Currently we can allow users to access 20 gigabytes of information per month. If the traffic ever exceeds 50 gigabytes then we must look for a sponsor or find some other way to fund the website. This is important to know because contributors to this website make the recordings on a voluntary basis and will not be allocated sponsorship income at any time in the future.

Furthermore, if you contribute to this site then you are willingly donating your recording to the public domain. If you want your recording removed from the website we are happy to do this, but we cannot guarantee this will be done quickly, if at all.

We need to say these things from a legal point of view because sometimes even the administrators of the site can be locked out and be unable to remove or alter any files.
