Julia was born in Leningrad, which is now called Saint Petersburg. Since childhood, Julia was very attracted to different languages like English and German. Unfortunately, school didn't provide any deep level of English instruction, so she had to study English by herself, attending courses and reading different books.

More than anything Julia likes to communicate with foreigners.  She knows that studying different languages is not that easy and books do not contain much information and details of the language (like informal speech or slang). On the internet Julia has met a lot of people that are studying Russian. Of course, most of them search for some convenient way to learn it, so in order to help them she decided to produce something that would be around for a long period of time. Julia specialises in slang and informal speech, and so tries to find a way to represent Russian slang and informal Russian to a wide audience.

At the present time Julia is running the house and looking for a job. All her free time is spent making subtitles, translating things from Russian to English, making new posts on Russian slang at SolarNet, learning German, playing the guitar and communicating with foreigners. =)
